Terms of Service
Effective date: April 3, 2026 | Last updated: October 10, 2026 | Version: 2026-10-10
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Taply Retail POS, operated by 2D Data Solutions LLC. By creating an account or using the service, the merchant agrees to these terms.
Service description
Taply Retail POS is point-of-sale software for retail businesses. It supports sales transactions, product catalogs, inventory, staff access, customer records, payment workflows, receipts, analytics, and reports.
Eligibility and accounts
- Merchant account representatives must be at least 18 and legally able to act for their business. Staff must have appropriate authorization.
- Users must be authorized to bind the business they represent.
- Account, store, and staff information must be accurate and current.
- Merchants are responsible for activity under their accounts and staff PINs.
Payment processing
Taply Retail POS is not a payment processor. Electronic payments are provided by third-party payment processors, including Stripe and Square, and are subject to those providers' terms and privacy policies.
Tap to Pay on iPhone is provided through Apple and Stripe. Tap to Pay on Android is provided through Stripe Terminal on supported Android devices. Device, account, and payment-network eligibility are determined by those providers.
Merchant responsibilities
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Configure accurate tax rates and remit taxes to the proper authorities.
- Maintain transaction records needed for business, accounting, and tax obligations.
- Train staff and protect account credentials, staff PINs, and devices.
- Collect customer data only with appropriate consent and lawful basis.
- Do not use the service for illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized activity.
Data and privacy
Use of the service is also governed by the Taply Retail POS Privacy Policy. The service stores operational data locally for offline operation and syncs data to cloud services when configured.
Refunds, disputes, and taxes
Merchants are responsible for refund policies, payment disputes, chargebacks, customer communications, tax configuration, tax collection, and tax remittance. Taply Retail POS provides tools to help operate the business, but it does not provide legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice.
Intellectual property
Upload only content you own or are permitted to use. We may restrict infringing material and terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. See copyright information and reporting.
The service, software, designs, trademarks, and content are owned by 2D Data Solutions LLC or its licensors. Merchants receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for business operations.
Termination and account deletion
Deleting the app or local data does not cancel a paid subscription. Any recurring offer must disclose its price, frequency, renewal and cancellation conditions before purchase. Use the billing method identified in your agreement, or contact support for cancellation assistance. Existing payment and refund rights remain in place.
Merchants may stop using the service or delete their account from inside the app. Account deletion is available in Settings, then Legal & Privacy, then Delete Account. More information is available at taplypos.com/retail/delete-account.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided as is and as available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, 2D Data Solutions LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data loss, payment processing failures, service interruptions, or tax calculation errors.
