A compact phone can support a mobile workflow while a landscape tablet gives the register and basket more room at a fixed counter.

  • Use the responsive phone navigation or the wider tablet register and operations layout.
  • Assign and identify store devices from the administrative workspace.
  • Keep local catalog and operating data available for supported offline workflows.

Scan and print

Connect the work happening around the register.

Hardware settings separate device roles so a receipt is not sent to a label printer and staff can choose the right destination for each job.

  • Scan with the device camera or a compatible external USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner.
  • Configure Wi-Fi or Bluetooth ESC/POS receipt printing where supported.
  • Assign receipt, shelf-label and label roles, including supported ESC/POS and Zebra ZPL output.
  • Trigger a connected cash drawer through the configured receipt-printer path and use a customer display where supported.

Accept payment

Keep payment setup tied to the merchant.

Taply separates the retail workspace from the connected merchant configuration and exposes reader setup as an explicit operating step.

  • Use Tap to Pay on eligible devices after the required merchant and platform setup is complete.
  • Pair supported Stripe Terminal readers through the payment settings workflow.
  • Keep connected-account context associated with the current store rather than placing secret keys in the app.
  • Reconcile unresolved card state before a second collection attempt.
