Bookstore POS questions, answered.

What does a bookstore need from a POS system?

Start with a clear product catalog, reliable item lookup, inventory, supplier receiving and a way to review sales. Then add your own requirements, such as special orders, events or online selling, to the fit review.

Can I use book barcodes and ISBNs?

Taply Retail supports product identifiers and compatible barcode input. Test your actual ISBN labels, scanner and edition records during a walkthrough. Automatic ISBN metadata lookup and distributor catalog feeds are not confirmed.

How should different editions be organized?

Bring hardback, paperback and revised editions as separate examples. Review the name, SKU, barcode and stock unit for each sellable item so checkout selects the intended edition.

Can the store sell stationery and gifts too?

The Retail catalog can hold different product categories. Include your gift and stationery ranges in the demo to confirm taxes, stock units and the checkout behavior you need.

Are special orders and book events included?

Dedicated special-order automation, event ticketing and reservation tools have not been established. Review those requirements separately from the standard catalog and sale workflow.

Will stock connect to an existing online store?

An online-store connection must be confirmed for your platform and setup. This page does not promise automatic stock synchronization or an included storefront builder.

Where do bookstore owners sign in?

Use the Taply Retail owner and admin entry from the Retail product navigation or login page. Access depends on your organization and assigned account permissions.
