From the plan to the review

Keep planned time and worked time clear.

A schedule describes the intended shift. Recorded hours, overtime and payroll calculations have their own review. Keep both parts of the process visible when preparing the team’s pay register.

  • Use the schedule for planned coverage
  • Review recorded hours and exceptions separately
  • Confirm the handoff to your payroll provider

A few things to know.

Which plan includes staff scheduling?

Scheduling is included with Ultra and Enterprise. Staff roles and other people-management tools have their own plan requirements; review the complete setup in your demo.

Does creating a shift run payroll?

No. A scheduled shift is a plan, not an approved time record or payroll instruction. Review worked hours and payroll calculations through the appropriate process.

Does Taply automatically optimize the roster?

This page describes the weekly scheduling workspace and manual shift assignments. Demand-based roster optimization, automatic shift notifications and employee shift swaps are not established by this page.

Can I add notes to a shift?

Yes. A shift can include notes alongside the staff member, date, start time, end time and role. Bring your own scheduling examples to the walkthrough.
