Barcode scanners

Find the item. Keep the line moving.

Find the item. Keep the line moving.

Give the counter a familiar way to find products. Compatible scanners provide barcode text to Retail's lookup flow, while camera and typed lookup offer other ways to find the item.

  • Find products by their catalog barcode.
  • Review the matched item and selling unit before checkout.
  • Use device-camera lookup on supported devices.
  • Keep SKU search available when a label needs attention.
Explore barcode scanning

Match scanning to the products you sell.

Review your product labels

Bring examples from your actual range, including small labels, multipacks and supplier barcodes. Check that each barcode identifies the intended product and selling unit in your catalog. A readable code is only useful when it leads to the correct item.

Choose the input method

Discuss compatible keyboard-input scanners and supported device-camera workflows with Taply. Confirm the scanner model, connection and device before purchase. The way a scanner sends input matters as much as its appearance, particularly when moving between search fields and the checkout basket.

Keep a practical fallback

Test a damaged label, an unfamiliar item and a product without a barcode. Staff should know how to find the item by SKU or search and verify the price and quantity. Review the result on the register before completing the sale.
